Wang Zhan, male, Han nationality, is a native of Changli, Hebei Province. He was born in 1941, graduated from Liaoning Teachers' College and joined the CPC in 1965.
Wang became secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee in 1994. At the same time, he served as vice-chairman of the Inner Mongolia People's Government. In 2001 he was elected chairman of the CPPCC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee.
Wang was an alternate member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees.
